WHAT IS DIETARY SUPPLEMENTATION?

Dietary supplements are customized oral supplements taken to correct micronutrient deficiency in essential vitamins and minerals.

WHAT WE DO

During your Medical Consultation for Lab Testing, if you are experiencing any symptoms related to a micronutrient deficiency then our Physician may order a Micronutrient and/or Gut Health panel as part of your Lab Testing. This blood test is a convenient, accurate way to check your essential vitamins and minerals, helping you identify when to adjust for deficiencies.

After completing your blood draw at a specified lab location, you will return to see our Physician for your Lab Analysis. During your Medical Follow Up for Lab Analysis, our Physician will sit down and talk with you about your results. You’ll receive full documentation of your test results along with an explanation and treatment recommendations to correct any micronutrient imbalances.

Many micronutrient imbalances can be restored by making adjustments to your diet. However, some micronutrient imbalances require more long-term medical management involving Bio Individual Dietary Supplements with our Physician. This involves customized oral supplements available by prescription for at-home use. These can be combined with our IV Drips for increased health optimization! Our Physician will closely track your progress at medical follow up visits done once every 3 months.

FAQs

What are micronutrients?
  • Our bodies require specific amounts of vitamins and minerals known as micronutrients to function normally on a daily basis. Some important micronutrients include Vitamin C, Vitamin D, Iron, Folate, and Sodium.
  • Unlike macronutrients (Proteins, Fiber, Carbs, Fats) that your body needs in large amounts for normal function, your body needs only small amounts of most micronutrients in a given day (often less than 2 grams). This amount may seem negligible, but deficiencies can lead to disease.
  • Depending on the exact vitamin or mineral deficiency, it may impact several areas of your life: energy levels, metabolism, immune health, circulation, mood, bone health, infections, and rate of aging. Micronutrients are crucial for women who are expecting or plan on starting a family.
