Remove unwanted hair for smooth, silky skin.

    WHAT IS LASER HAIR REMOVAL?

Laser hair removal is a non-invasive treatment that uses targeted laser energy to reduce unwanted hair by safely damaging the hair follicle for smoother, longer- lasting results.

    WHAT WE DO

During Laser Hair Removal, we use intense pulsed light to target and destroy the hair follicles. As the follicles heat up, their natural growth process stops and the hair is destroyed. Eventually, treated hair falls out on its own in about 2 weeks after treatment.

After the shedding process, treated hair grows back. But with each laser hair removal treatment, your hair grows back lighter and finer. Over time, permanent hair reduction results in naturally, smooth skin. It is typical to start with 6 sessions done every 6-8 weeks, and then 1-2 maintenance sessions per year.

    WHAT TO EXPECT

Things to know about laser hair removal include the following:

    • While the IPL’s filter for hair removal treats a wide range of wavelengths, it’s still true that laser hair removal is most effective if you have fair skin and dark hair. However, you may still be a candidate with other skin types, and fine or light hair. It doesn’t work on blonde, white, or grey hair, so we recommend our clinical grade body waxing to still get that silky smooth skin.
    • Avoid the urge to wax or pluck between each session of laser hair removal. This will reduce the efficacy of the treatment.
    • Shaving the day before laser hair removal is recommended.

    FAQs

    Is laser hair removal permanent?
    • Hair can be stubborn! You might have to continue shaving occasionally after laser hair removal. Also hormonal fluctuations, especially during puberty or pregnancy, can stimulate new hair to grow in areas already treated with laser. That’s why we call it laser hair reduction, not laser hair removal.
    • Typically patients start with a series of 6 sessions, and 1-2 maintenance sessions per year. Patients may continue to occasionally shave after laser hair removal. Laser hair removal is most effective when hair is in the active growth stage aka the anagen phase. Because each individual hair in your body is at a different point in the growth cycle, you’re going to need several treatments to increase the likelihood of targeting the hair in the anagen phase.
