WHAT ARE DERMAL FILLERS?

Unlike Botox, which relaxes the muscles responsible for forming wrinkles, Dermal fillers are injectable gels that diminish the appearance of wrinkles, and folds on the face.

Dermal Fillers are used to restore volume to areas where bone, fat, and muscle are diminished. Some common areas we treat using filler include: the cheeks, under eyes, brow, temples, nasolabial folds, lips, chin jawline, and hands. 

Common fillers used to achieve these results are: Juvederm, Restylane, Sculptra, and Radiesse. Each filler has a unique molecular structure making certain fillers ideal for specific areas of the face. Our providers will discuss which option is best for you. 

WHAT WE DO

Our philosophy at Skin Bio is tailored towards providing a subtle, natural look for our patients using fillers. The dermal filler will be injected into areas of concern. Topical anesthesia applied to the injection site prior to treatment can minimize discomfort. Numbness can persist for several hours after the procedure. Typically, the treatment takes 30 minutes and will vary based on the type of filler used. 

WHAT TO EXPECT

Downtime is different for every patient, and depends on which filler is used. While the filler is being applied, you may experience mild discomfort or a stinging sensation. After the procedure, you can experience injection-site redness, swelling, tenderness. This is common, and should last a few hours to a few days. Immediately after your filler treatment, we recommend icing your face and relaxing to minimize swelling or bruising.

Results can be seen immediately after treatment. Please allow 2 weeks for swelling or bruising to subside.  The duration of fillers depends on the type of filler used, and where it is injected. Depending on the filler used, results can last anywhere from 6-24 months.
